A Little More About Coach Cal.

Early Adulthood

Cal was raised in the California Bay Area, his first major interests were animals and the wilderness.

During high school Cal raised both rabbits and cockroaches on small farms he built.

The big shift happened for Cal in 2012 when he joined his middle school wrestling team and found a coach that really connected with him and pushed him to advance physically.

He continued wrestling in highschool, eventually leaving to row crew and finally moving into weightlifting and fitness training by the end of high school.

Cal started highschool with a very poor body image.

He felt judged by many of his peers.

While there were many great times in this period, there was an internal struggle to feel comfortable and confident in his body.

Cal began to get intentional about how he was tuning his body, with the training he was doing, foods he was eating, and rest he was getting, the same activities that had once felt draining seemed to do the opposite.

Not only that but his confidence grew massively both due to the realization that he had control over how is body looked, and because other people around him respected the work he was doing to build up his health.

University

Cal received the presidents award scholarship to the University of Minnesota where he studied Cellular and Organismal Physiology where he learned more about how the inner components of the body contribute to its higher functions and received his bachelors of Science in May 2024.

During University he also got certified as an Emergency Medical Technician through National University.

He also worked in the Low Lab building training equipment for lab animals and other research tasks, and in the Earl E. Bakken Medical Devices Center helping with 3D printing and working on a device used for mothers having trouble breast feeding.

He also stood as the financial chair on the Undergraduate Surgery Interest Group board.

After University

After University Cal studied with the National Academy of Sports Medicine and received his Certification for personal training through them.

His Trainer Certificate ID is 1241273603, you can validate this on the official NASM website.

Cal has always been passionate about health and fitness, in fact, he has been helping people with their training and diet since 2018 when he started his fitness instagram.

Since then and with much more education, his ability to train clients and get results has only improved.
